Pirate radio in Nottingham was very active in the late 1960s after the demise of the offshore stations .Many were caught and prosecuted .These stations operated on medium wave .One group were allowed a one off on radio Nottingham which was only on VHF at that time ,however when their program was broadcast it magically appeared on medium wave as well.

And whilst I remember Radio Arthur,s 100 watt VHF driver ended up at a Nottingham pirate .
