I suspect Stoke wasn't working out that well for them, listened a few times when I was up that way, it seemed dead on the listener front. Plus the signal was only really covering about 25% of Stoke.

103.5 is the clear freq; thats what i would try . do a test .. 99.7 no go unless your pushing 250 watts on a 19 storey with a double stack lol;
Re: Bandscan
Yeah looks like 103.5 is the best option

Mow Cop would be the place I'd put one up there.midlandsradio wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 7:00 pmI suspect Stoke wasn't working out that well for them, listened a few times when I was up that way, it seemed dead on the listener front. Plus the signal was only really covering about 25% of Stoke.
I was seeing a bird up there around 2005ish and I went up for a recce a few times. Seemed doable and Surge fm also fancied doing something too, I thought of band 1 linking to a black country rig and also up to Mow Cop, that hill looks down on Stoke and Manchester is easily seen too so a decent signal would hit Manchester too with a decent rig of I reckon 100+ Watts, and that signal would be heard in the Black Country in places.
Anyway, Freedom could do a lot worse than 1035.
If you think I care, you're too far gone.

Hmmmmm103.5 I'm having flash backs of eating chicken noodle soup with Cecil from pcrl at rig builders in 1992 lol

Dreams FM there audio is almost as s*** as their music. They shouldn't even be on the pirate archive with their music and audio and there signal.midlandsradio wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 7:17 pmThere is a lack of old style Black Country pirates, Dream could relive it's good times with the right DJs (or any regular DJs would help). The 'fun on air' element has totally gone from radio now sadly.
I was talking with Dream management a few weeks ago and suggested rewinding it all back to try and get that Black Country pirate feel. The idea was far from dismissed so who knows what might happen?
Dreams community FM . They are an embarrassment to pirate radio. Everytime I lock in there's never a DJ on there. Just shit music and audio.

I'm not on a station, I'm just a private dancer . I just like to lock into pirate radio stations to listen to good music that you can't get on at legit one. With what dreams play I might as well just look into to smooth FM or radio 1 and have a better signal and musicAndy Hicks wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 11:03 pmWhat station you on?radihead wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 10:53 pmDreams FM there audio is almost as s*** as their music. Re: Bandscan
For the record, the Dream which is currently on air is NOT the Dream we have hosted on the archive....

Dream are on though, and serving a purpose for those who want that service. There's been stations on that I've not enjoyed listening to but they too were serving those who like their content.radihead wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 9:50 amI'm not on a station, I'm just a private dancer . Pirates don't have to play one type of music, they fill a gap or scratch an itch. A lot of time, money and effort goes into getting a station on air and sometimes heartache too.
You can't please everyone all of the time.
