Black Country Radio
Black Country Radio
I see there's a application to the ITU for a power increase to 100w for BCR on 102.5

Weak at Stableford (about half way between Dudley and Telford) - and getting shit from something else on the same frequency playing a commercial dance mix.
102.5 in the same location good with RDS and stereo

Re: Black Country Radio
BCR is directional, aimed at the far side of the hill that 102.5 struggles to hit. Coseley, Tipton, West Brom, Oldbury.
If you think I care, you're too far gone.

Re: Black Country Radio
It's directional due to its location nothing else. I suspect their site is on the top of the council offices by Cousins at the top of the Dudley bypass. There is a bog standard dipole up there in the middle of the comms stuff already on the roof, and as you should know Andy, as it doesn't really clear those other aerials their signal is shite.
Had a drive at work in the van with it on and the RDS flicked to 102.5 in Wednesbury, nuff said about the signal, its not very good at all. Driving around too, its there but weak everywhere and wouldn't really be any good in a building if anyone tried to get it on a portable radio.
